Andrea Roper, independent insurance agent at Southern States Insurance agency, shares with us her prize winning family recipe that is both delicious and simple!
There’s good reason Gilmer County is commonly known as the Apple Capital of Georgia. The number of delicious apples grown all through out the county leave no room to question the title. From August to December in Gilmer County is the best apple season anywhere and the time of the Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay.
Our insurance agency is very proud of our agent Andrea Roper for winning the red ribbon for her apple pie recipe, and because she loves to cook and share her cooking.
Andrea’s Award Winning Grated Apple Pie

- 1 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 stick of butter, melted
