It is harder and harder every day to be successful as a trucking company owner.
You are a professional driver, you know how to get loads and make money but it’s just so tough to operate with such high overhead. Of course one of your biggest costs is insurance and you dread the mere mention of it, but it does not have to be that way. Take this story for example:
I had a trucker call me that was currently running one truck but looking to expand if he could get a new contract with a large soft drink company. The only problem was that the soft drink company required him to have a $1,000,000 umbrella and carry general liability. To make matters worse his current agent could not even offer these coverages.
After asking a few questions I learned that this driver operated primarily within a 100 mile radius. I also learned his insurance was placed with a large well know organization that insures a lot of truckers but that does not specialize in short haul. Long story short, because I focus on short haul, I was able to save him over $1,300 compared to his current premium while at the same time providing him with the increased limits and coverage.
Now he could get the contract and more importantly better protect his business and livelihood while growing at a lower cost.
What is moral of this story?
Every trucking company is different and deserves the help of an insurance professional that understands their operation. It is a myth that every agent is the same and that every company is alike with only the price being different. Because I specialize in the specific needs of short radius operations I have access to exclusive markets that best serve those customers.
